How We Evaluated Each Product

We evaluated the D3300 with two lenses: a 24-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom and a 35mm f/1.8 prime, both of which are relatively affordable for this camera body. We used each lens to take photos of a model in front of simple backdrops, and we also shot photos around the office.

We took the D3300 on a tour of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum annex at Dulles Airport outside Washington, DC to test how well it performed in low light conditions; alas, no photography was permitted inside the museum itself. We also took pictures at night of models posing in my backyard under streetlights and porch lights—the kinds of conditions where you can’t really see what you’re doing on the screen but still want to keep shooting.

Our Thoughts

The Maxboost Screen Protector for Nikon D3500 D3400 D3300 D3200 D3100 Cameras is a great option since it’s 99.99% HD clarity and 0.3mm thickness (9H hardness) ensure that you’ll be able to see the screen as clearly as possible.

It also has a hydrophobic oleophobic screen coating, which makes it easier to wipe away smudges, and easier to clean in the future. The protector covers the edge of the screen to protect it from scratches, and it’s bubble-free, so you don’t have to deal with the annoying task of smoothing it out.

This screen protector is also guaranteed to be free of fingerprint smudges, and it should effectively prevent damage from sudden drops or sharp objects (such as keys and knives).

Go Through These Factors Before Clicking “Add to Cart”

We used our years of experience shooting with Nikon DSLRs to research which accessories are most essential for new photographers. In addition, we read and listened to comments from readers, and we looked at the top accessory recommendations on photography blogs.

From that list, we picked accessories that meet the following criteria:

Has Sturdy Mounts

Nikon DSLRs have a standardized mounting system so that lenses and accessories can attach securely yet release easily when you want them to.
